Is there an alternative to Hydrochloric Acid for lowering pH?

Yes there is an alternative and it is Poolware Dry Acid. Although it is still a corrosive chemical it is in granular form and is easier to handle transport and store. It can be added directly to the pool water as it is totally soluble. Follow the directions on the package.

100mls of Hydrochloric Acid equals 117 grams of Dry Acid. Ensure it is kept well away from any metal or metal fittings. Read the instructions carefully, follow the safety directions and/or obtain advice from your Poolware Professional who can advise you on how much Poolware Dry Acid you will need to add.
